Monstrous Synopsis
Jung Ki Hoon searches for ordinary supernatural phenomena as an archaeologist, however an unexpected case reasons his lifestyles to exchange. He now publishes the occult mag Monthly Strange Story and runs the YouTube channel Monthly Strange Story. Because of his ex-spouse, Lee Soo Jin, he goes to Jinyang County to investigate “Gwibul” (a Buddhist statue possessed by using an evil spirit). There, he faces a really weird & fearful phenomenon.
Lee Soo Jin used to decipher letters and logos as an archaeologist. She changed into amazing at her work. But, her best child dies, and she or he then is going to Jinyang County. There, Lee Soo Jin stories mysterious phenomena, which leads her to search for solutions.
Meanwhile, the human beings of Jinyang County, such as police substation leader Han Seok Hee, her son Han Do Kyung, governor Kwon Jong Soo, and trouble maker Kwak Yong Joo face pretty weird phenomena.
A giant Buddha statue is unearthed in a small rural town. The mayor believes that it will change the town into a major tourist attraction.
However, a catastrophe starts to grow. A centuries-old curse is unleashed from the statue, and it starts to eat up people’s souls and make them non-human. Jung Ki-hoon, as archaeologist tries to seek the truth behind the paranormal phenomenon.
