Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, is attracting considerable attention following his outstanding performances during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Chippa United’s Stanley Nwabali, who has been associated with a potential transfer to Kaizer Chiefs, is highly sought after.

Nwabali currently serves as the primary goalkeeper for Chippa United in the Premier Soccer League, PSL.

Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro, opted to designate the 27-year-old as the number one choice over Francis Uzoho for the AFCON tournament.

In the six matches he has played, Nwabali has only conceded two goals, which were against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.

His remarkable performances have provided the Super Eagles with an opportunity in the continental competition, a tournament they last secured victory in 2013.

Nwabali’s agent, Mohammed Lawal, has hinted at significant interest in the player, mentioning potential moves to France and Saudi Arabia. Lawal stated,

“There is no surprise because of his performance during the Afcon tournament in Ivory Coast.” Regarding the rumored links to Kaizer Chiefs, Lawal stated, “I have only seen [Kaizer Chiefs links] in newspapers. I cannot comment on anything regarding local interest, please speak to the chairman of the club.”
