A couple from Delta state gained widespread attention after their church wedding, which reportedly cost only N50,000, took place last weekend.

Images circulating online depict the couple dressed modestly in casual attire, receiving blessings from their clergy inside the church.

Udu Lucky Obukhowo, the groom, explained that they opted for simplicity following their traditional wedding due to prevailing economic challenges. He emphasized the importance of being practical in tough times, stating, “Why try to outdo yourself when times are tough? Do what you can, and we’ll all be okay.”

Obukhowo mentioned that they utilized their existing wardrobe for attire and only purchased rings for the church ceremony.
