Ballon d’ Or 2021: Dates, nominees, winners to be announced in October

Ballon d’Or nominees for this year’s award will be announced on October 8, 2021.

The award ceremony, which will consecrate the winners, will be held on November 29, 2021.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony for this year will take place at Théâtre du Châtelet of Paris.

French Football made the announcement in a post via their website on Wednesday.

For the men’s Ballon d’Or, a jury of 180 international journalists will determine the 30 nominated, for the Women’s Ballon d’Or, 50 journalists specializing in women’s football will choose the 20 nominated.

Recall that the Ballon d’ Or was not handed out last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Chelsea stars Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are expected to battle Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’ Or.
