Drake and Chris Brown are being sued over their tune No Guidance.
Singer and producer Brandon Cooper and Timothy Valentine, aka Mr. Cooper and Drum’n Skillz, have sued Drake and Brown, claiming the pair took their song I Love Your Dress and grew to become it into No Guidance.
In court documents received by using TMZ, Cooper and Valentine allege their music dropped three years before No Guidance used to be released in June 2019. They claim an evaluation of the beat, lyrics, hook and rhythmic shape of each songs proves that No Guidance was once copied, or mainly derived, from I Love Your Dress.
They also state Brown and Drake stole their lyric “she obtained it; she received it”, which is repeated sixteen instances in I Love Your Dress, and turned it into “You bought it, girl; you got it” for No Guidance, in which they repeat it eleven times.
Cooper and Valentine additionally accuse the celeb pair of poking exciting at the fact they ripped off the song through inclusive of a lyric about flying “the coop,” which the former claims is a play on his nickname, Coop.
The duo is suing for copyright infringement and is seeking good sized damages.
Brown and Drake have yet to remark on the lawsuit.
