Introduction

Some listeners of his program were calling privately, to ask what they should do with some amount of money they have. But he was announcing to them, that part of his assignment as a presenter is not to tell them where to invest their money. But to inspire them to succeed in whatever they do.

“I have ₦1million, what should I do with it?

“I have ₦300,000, what do you suggest I do with it?

  1. Palm oil has a storage value that makes it an asset: Palm oil is not as perishable as tomatoes, fresh paper, onions or some other products within its bracket. That is why it could be stored for between 6 months at minimum, or 12 or 18 months at maximum, depending on the quality of the oil.

This storage value of palm oil makes it an asset. It can increase in its financial value with time.

That’s why I’m not recommending it to you as a business. Business is buying, and selling with a margin.

But in the case of palm oil storage, you buy, and see your capital growing into double or more over a period of time. Then sell at the right time and make your profits.

As at the time of writing this post, market research shows that a 25 liters gallon that was bought at ₦11,000 during the time it was cheap is now selling at ₦25,000.

Let’s assume you are one among those who have ₦300,000, but don’t know where to invest it. If you had invested it in palm oil storage between December and January last year, you would have more than ₦600, 000 by now.

Within the next circle of storage and sales, you can start counting in millions.

  1. Palm oil is of high liquidity rate: If you store palm oil, you can sell it at any time and take your cash. You don’t need an agent whom you would pay commission, as in the case of real estate (land). You don’t need to sign papers or pay penalty for withdrawing before stipulated time, as in fixed deposit.

Let’s assume you have a better investment opportunity and you want to sell the palm oil you have stored and invest, it is easy.

Any time, any day, you can have your money because the market is always there and buyers are there. This is the concept of liquidity in mainstream investing.

The following are the major materials to buy.

A Few plastic containers – 25 or 30 liters (the number would depend on how much you are investing.

Actionable steps to palm oil storage investment.

Some are of the opinion that you need a business plan to start palm oil storage. Or that you need to rent a shop. Or even go register with corporate affairs commission.

Hey! You don’t need all this if you understand this post.

Follow these simple steps below and invest as much as you have.

  • Make storage space – Depending on the quantity you are buying. You don’t need to rent a room if you are starting small. Which I recommend you do. A space in your apartment may be all you need to start.

Even if you have one million, I don’t advise you to invest all at once. Although there is little risk when it comes to palm oil storage investment, investing all your money at once is not encouraged. It is like testing the depth of an ocean with two legs. It could be dangerous.

  • Buy your storage facilities, like plastic gallons.

  • Have an update about the market prices from time to time.

  • Keep your cash ready.

  • Buy when it is cheapest.

  • Sell when it is highest.

How to avoid risks associated with investing in palm oil storage.

  • Fake palm oil: There are fake red oils and there are ones with a very poor quality. They are mixed with something else.

To avoid buying fake and adulterated red oil I recommend you buy from local producers.

  • There are criminals, who like to reap where they have not sown.

To avoid loosing your storage to thieves, you must ensure that the place where you store your oil is safe. Buy strong padlock. Fix iron protectors and always mount surveillance around your store.

  • Shortened oil gallons. When you buy with containers that are not complete, you are being cheated.

To avoid being cheated with shortened containers, always turn the oil from the seller’s gallon to yours before payment.

  • Avoid Greed. Greed can make you sell when the prices have gone down, thereby loosing money.

To avoid missing the right time to sell, sell when the price has appreciated considerably.
