Somtochukwu Valentine better known as Somval is a fast rising Nigerian star. He is a good singer and also a rapper. He is popularly known for his Hiplife songs.

Early Life & Education

Somval is from Nteje in Anambra State, Nigeria and was born into a family of four.  He is the third born and the only son. He has a twin sisters.

He attended University Preparatory Secondary School (U.P.S.S) where he studied Commercial Art and came out with a good O’level certificate (SSCE).

Somval lived with his elder sister in Nnewi, Anambra throughout his Secondary School and at that time, he secretly writes his songs and visit studios to sing them because he was not permitted by his family and brother-in-law.

Somval was once a member of Nnewi popular group of artists known as Nnewi Hood Cyphers (N.H.C). He was one of the most rated rapper in the group even before the release of Nnewi popular Anthem “Nnewi To The World” by the Nnewi Hood Cyphers.

He stopped showing up to record songs with the group and also stopped attending shows because he was limited by his family’s decision on his music career. His parents was strongly against him becoming a musician but that didn’t stop him. He did his thing secretly.

Career

Somval has written so many songs but his first released song is “Hammer” in 2018. After that he was featured by Ruff dreadzy on Stagger in 2019.

He released another single titled “Mama” in 2020 and from there he joined the “International Bad Men” Entertainment and dropped series of songs.
